The persecuted church

On September 20th we were delighted to welcome Andy from Open Doors who spoke about the latest Open Doors Watch List of countries where Christians are persecuted because of their faith. He then shared several moving and powerful testimonies from Christians in some of these countries.

The two churches in Seer Green met together for a joint service on 16th September. Andrew started the service by talking about us as God’s saints in Christ Jesus in Seer Green and Jordans; a reference to the opening of Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi which we have been studying. Count your blessings

In the fourth of our housegroup-led services, Barry and Janice’s group reminded us how important it is to count our blessings. They shared how we have been able to bless others through the missionary work started from this church, and then Tim spoke about ourselves.

Praise the Lord!

This ‘Psalm’ was written by the congregation at the morning service, 29th July 2018 led by the Stable Lane Housegroup. The service focused on Psalms 149 and 150. We heard a reading of Psalm 150 from the NIV bible and a modern rewriting of Psalm 149. We were then invited to write a simple ‘praise phrase’ or exhortation. Summer Sundays

For six weeks from July 29th to September 2nd we are having informal, relaxed services led by our housegroups. In many cases there is no sermon and therefore no recording. If any of the housegroups includes a sermon then we will post it here.

The vine life

On 22nd July Gill summarised our journey over the past few weeks and looked particularly at what it means for us individually. She encouraged us to live the “vine life” as described in John 15, and the recording starts with Gill reading verses 9 to 17.
