Sermons by Gill Roberts
Gill continues our series from James chapter 3.
Gill spoke about the importance of rejoicing in our prayers and worship.
Good Friday, April 2020. A recording of most of the service which was held over Zoom.
On 29th December Gill led a reflective service for the end of the year. She spoke about Mary and Joseph, their humility and vulnerability, and what we can learn. These are the carvings which Gill refers to:
On 25th August Gill and Clive led another of our informal Sunday services for August. Gill spoke on getting our hearts checked: are our hearts in the right place for God. During the talk she played a video of a flashmob which you can see here:
On 22nd July Gill summarised our journey over the past few weeks and looked particularly at what it means for us individually. She encouraged us to live the “vine life” as described in John 15, and the recording starts with Gill reading verses 9 to 17.
On 11th June, having followed the account from Passover via Ascension to Pentecost, we paused to consider what we had covered and to consolidate. Gill Roberts led us to consider a series of questions around the theme of “are we ready and prepared for God to change us?”
Finally on 24th July, Gill Roberts looked back at what we have learnt through both the fruit of the Spirit series and the study of 1 Peter. The video clip used to illustrate all the qualities we need to show – patience, determination, concentration – is here:
