On 8th November 2020 we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the current church building. The recording starts with a few recollections of the events of the late 1970’s based around the six photographs below. Then we were delighted to welcome one of our former pastors, Barry Cheesman, who spoke about the importance of faith, love and hope in the life of the church…
On Remembrance Sunday the two churches in Seer Green and local children joined together in a simple Act of Remembrance.
On 1st November Chris Justice spoke to us about the importance of prayer as we enter into this period of transition for our church (as well as another lockdown). The talk is based on Exodus 17 v8-16.
On 25th October we said farewell to Andrew and Denise. Chris spoke from Exodus 33 with a message for both Andrew and Denise, and for the church.
In his final talk to our church Andrew speaks about the importance of the Holy Spirit in us and leading us.
Jesus’ passion was for the honour of his Father’s Name. Andrew spoke about how this should shape us and our lives.
In the second of our two harvest services on 4th October we were joined by Laura-Lee Lovering, our BMS contact based in the Peruvian Amazon. Laura spoke to us about creation stewardship in the context of her work with local farmers and drew out some practical lessons for us.
On 27th September we welcomed Philip Nalpanis from the Christian Environmental organisation A’Rocha. Philip spoke first about the Biblical mandate for creation care, and then about what we can do practically. The recording starts with a reading from Colossians 1 v15 onwards.
On 20th September Louise spoke from 1 Corinthians 16: “Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all you do be done in love”. She used this to illustrate the marks of a mission-shaped church.
As Andrew prepares to move on at the end of October, he starts a final series about how we should not look back but instead press on. Today he talks about the most important aspect: devotion to God.
