Sermons on Acts (Page 2)
Family
On 20th October Andrew spoke from Acts chapter 2 about how the Holy Spirit helps us live together as the family of God.
How does the Holy Spirit help us worship?
On 13th October Andrew continued our series on living in the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. During the sermon he refers to this painting, “Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh.
Pentecost
The day of Pentecost – June 9th 2019. Andrew used the passage about the valley of dry bones in Ezekiel 37 to explain how God sends His Holy Spirit to restore the holiness of His name. Andrew went on to pray for Seer Green to be a fruitful place, empowered by the same Holy Spirit. The sermon starts with the reading from Ezekiel 37.
Living in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit – Part 2
Many people appreciated what Susie Howe had shared with us last week. It seemed to speak directly to our situation. This week Andrew used six excerpts from what Susie had said so that we could consider and learn more about the Holy Spirit. The recording finishes with a word of knowledge received…
Living in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit
On 26th May we were delighted to welcome Susie Howe from the Bethany Children’s Trust. Susie spoke powerfully on the power of the Holy Spirit in her life, and in the work of the trust. The recording starts with Andrew interviewing Susie.
We are what we believe
Over the next few weeks we will be learning more about the Holy Spirit. On 12th May Andrew introduced this series. He reminded us about the importance of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to the first disciples and he spoke about the importance of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers today.

On 4th November, Andrew spoke again from Acts chapter 16, the account of the early church in Philippi. In particular he focused on how Paul and Silas sought justice for themselves and the early church. Even when they had been released they didn’t sneak off quietly, but made sure that the injustices done to them were readdressed. Andrew and Will Luff then picked up…
The church at Philippi
During the autumn we will be studying Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi. On September 9th we started this new series, and Andrew introduced us to some of the early characters in the church as described in Acts 16. As we study the letter in future weeks it is important to remember that this was written to real people in a real small community of believers.
The gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit
To finish this series on the Holy Spirit, Andrew led a Bible study on the remarkable transformation in the disciples in the days after Pentecost through an outpouring of the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Pentecost!
Sunday 20th May, Pentecost Sunday. We met round the communion table and the first part of this recording is the time of prayer which followed. Andrew’s talk starts around 10 minutes in. He spoke on the significance of the harvest celebration of Shavuot (which we now call Pentecost) in the Jewish calendar, and how the harvest of the Holy Spirit on that first…
