Seer Green Village History – Baker Lofty

The pictures shown below were contributed by Chris Lofty.

They highlight his family’s involvement in supplying bread (and later groceries) to the village. Over the years transport changed dramatically, and the shop has also evolved. The bakery was at the corner of Orchard Road and Wynnswick Road (now a block of flats). The Seer Green bakery has ceased production, but the Loftys continued to sell groceries. They took the end shop in the parade (now Best One) and, after years of service, eventually retired to the Cotswolds.
